The majestic palace which is now a heritage hotel of India was built in the year 1928 by General Amar Singh Ji, the then Thakur of Kanota, a confidant of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh and Commander of the erstwhile Jaipur State Force. The palace was named after Amar Singh Ji's father, Thakur Narain Singh.
