Tripadvisor, the leading travel website in the world, recently announced 25 best Heritage Hotels of India. The judgment was solely based on the unbiased reviews of the users of this website. These users review and comment about the properties according to their experiences. In this list, nine out of the twenty five Heritage Properties are located in Rajasthan alone.
However, the second position has been secured by “God’s Own Country”, Kerala. Umaid Bhawan Palace (Udaipur) topped the charts with first rank, while the Taj Lake Palace, Rawla Narlai and Ramgarh Palace followed with consecutive rankings. This year West Bengal and Uttarakhand bagged three points; which is better than last year, when they secured two wins each.

The country manager of Tripadvisor India, Nikhil Ganju said “’Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards for Heritage Hotels recognize the best heritage properties in the country, and we are proud to honor the winners who have painstakingly and lovingly conserved these properties that have immense historical and cultural significance”. Comparing the results with the previous year, there have been some ups and downs in the number of Heritage Properties belonging to different states.
