Overview

The Cultural Gateway to India tour aims to showcase the fascinating culture of India by letting you visit the holy temples and religious shrines scattered all over the major cities of India. On this tour, you will get a taste of royalty by visiting the palaces and forts of Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur. This tour, offered by Heritage Hotels of India, takes you on a trip to the magnificent temples of India. You are also given a chance to revisit history by visiting the various museums and parks scattered all over the country.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Delhi airport, you will be received by our representative who will arrange for your transfer to one of our listed hotels. Thereafter, complete the check-in formalities at the hotel. You will spend the day resting in your hotel room. During the evening, you have the option of exploring the electric nightlife of Delhi.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, head out on a city tour of Delhi. Famous tourist attractions of Delhi include the Birla Mandir, Qutab Minar, Red Fort, India Gate, the Jama Masjid, Humanyun's Tomb and President's House. During the evening, visit the Red Fort to enjoy the incredible light and sound show.

Enjoy your breakfast, then leave for Khajuraho by road. After arriving, check-in at any one of our listed hotels. Rest and relax for a while, then proceed on a guided tour to Khajuraho. Proceed towards the group of famous Chandela dynasty temples. These temples are famous worldwide for their fabulously erotic carvings and sculptures that enchant the visitor immensely. The Western group of temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, include the Kandariya Mahadeo temple, the Matangesvara Temple, the Lakshmana Temple, and the Varaha Temple.

After your breakfast, leave for Agra by road. Make a stop midway and visit architectural wonders like Fatehpur Sikri, while exploring places like Salim Chisti's Tomb, Jama Masjid, Panch Mahal etc. Later, visit Itmad-ud-Daula's Tomb, which provides some fascinating aspects of Mughal architecture. Another architectural marvel worth visiting is the Red Fort, a colossal beauty visited by a large number of tourists everyday. Return to the hotel in the evening for an enjoyable dinner.

In the early morning, pay a visit to the Taj Mahal - one of the wonders of the world and an architectural marvel. The sight of this fabulous monument, carved in pure white marble and adorned with spectacular designs and intricate calligraphy enchants the onlooker to no end. Later, visit the Pearl Mosque and the Tomb of Itamad-ud-Daula built by Empress Noor Jehan in the memory of her father. Return to the hostel in the evening and enjoy a delightful dinner.

After a delicious breakfast, leave for Jaipur by road. After arriving, check-in at one of our enlisted hotels. Later, head out to explore the wonderful tourist attractions in the city including the Jal Mahal, Jaigarh Fort, Central Museum and Birla Mandir.

The next day starts with an excursion to the Amber Fort, accompanied by a thrilling ride on an elephant. The afternoon is reserved for a city tour consisting of a visit to the City Palace, combined with the Royal Observatory and Hawa Mahal.

After an enjoyable breakfast in the morning, make your way to Jodhpur. Also known as "The Sun City", it endears itself to tourists through its picturesque landscapes. Its climate is characterized by a sunny and bright weather which prevails throughout the year. Upon reaching Jodhpur, complete the check-in formalities at one of our enlisted hotels. After a wonderful lunch, take a trip to the Government Museum and the beautiful Umed Garden. Take a leisurely walk to the local market of Jodhpur in the evening.

Enjoy your breakfast in the morning, and then go on a full day excursion tour to the majestic forts and fabulous palaces, including Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhavan Palace, Jaswant Thada and the Raj ka Bagh Palace. The early evening is dedicated to enjoying a short safari to the villages of Bishnoi tribals to get a glimpse of their custom and culture at a close range.

In the morning, after breakfast, drive your way to Udaipur, also known as the "Venice of the East". On the way, visit Ranakpur. After visiting Ranakpur, proceed towards the fort of Kumbhalgarh. You should also visit Lake Palace, a symbol of architectural excellence.

Enjoy your breakfast, and then get ready for a city tour of Udaipur. Come across some of the major tourist attractions in the city, including the City Palace Museum, Sahelion Ki Bari, Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal, Folk Art Museum and Jagdish Temple. The evening is set for exploring the City Palace, seated on the banks of the Pichola Lake, along with the Monsoon Palace, perched on a hill overlook the entire city.

After a hearty breakfast in the morning, get ready for a guided tour to the World Heritage Site of Ajanta and Ellora Caves in the afternoon. These wonderful caves are located 30km away from the North West region of the city. A deep spiritual message is sought to be conveyed through the 5 caves dedicated to Jainism, 12 caves to Buddhism and 17 caves to Hinduism. Then, rest, relax and unwind at a heritage hotel or similar property. The Ellora Caves are home to 34 monasteries. You should also explore the area to witness the exclusive continuing chain of monuments. After exploring these wonderful caves, return back to Aurangabad.

In the morning, you will be transferred to Aurangabad airport to board a flight to Mumbai. After reaching Mumbai, head to one of our listed hotels. After breakfast, drive your way to Madurai city which is eminent for its Meenakshi Temple. During the day, enjoy an excursion to the holy sea of Rameswaram. The afternoon is set for visiting the Tirumala Palace and the Gandhi Museum.

The next morning, after breakfast, hit the road for Chettinad. Chettinad attracts a large number of tourists due to its magnificent temples, stately buildings, woodcraft, textiles and architecture. Upon reaching Chettinad, complete the check-in formalities at one of our listed hotels. Relax and rejuvenate before proceeding to visit the enormous country homes of the Chettiars. From there, head to the Chettinad Museum which exhibits traditional jewelry, textiles, utensils and other products related to the daily lifestyle of the Chettiyars.

In the early morning, head out to Trichy, a city spread out on the banks of River Kaveri. Spend the entire day exploring the famous Ranganath Temple. Then visit the temples at Jambukeshwar and Srirangam.

Then, there is Mahabalipuram, famous for its rock-cut shore temples.
