Rawat Dwarka Dasji built Deogarh Mahal in 1670 A.D as a family residence. The Mahal is an exceptional work of architectural magnificence, complete with graying battlements, domes, gun enclosures, jharokhas and gigantic entrances. Deogarh Mahal stands proudly atop a hill in the Aravalli mountain range amid pictorial landscapes and several lakes. Deogarh Palace was transformed into a heritage hotel by the present owner Rawal-Nahar Singh.
The accommodation at Deogarh Mahal consists of 50 rooms, divided into- Deluxe Rooms (22). Deluxe Suites (23), Studio Suites (2), and Royal Suites (3). Every rooms has a traditional, and an elegant décor, which is Rajputana inspired, and has all the world-class comforts. The restoration and alteration has been done in such a manner that there is no change in the old styling of the property. Gokul Ajara, Moti Mahal and Ranjit Prakash- these three rooms date back to1670 AD. The rooms have all the facilities including attached bathroom with modern amenities, round the clock room service direct dial telephone, air-conditioned, safety deposit locker, tea maker, mini-bars, comfortable bed, rich furnishings and so on.
The hotel has a multi-restaurant and bar where the guests can have a fine-dining experience. The meals are prepared by trained chefs using home-grown vegetables and milk, home-made milk products and oils, and aromatic spices. Mewari cuisine is the highlight of the menu. The best time to visit the Rajsamand district is between the months of October and early April. The weather of the region is basically warm, dry and humidity is quite low. The tourists can hire a fort known as Seengh Sagar, which is located at a distance of 5 kilometers from the hotel.
